Choose a feeder size appropriate for the animal being fed. Live insects are best used as part of a varied, species-appropriate diet, and feeder care after delivery affects their condition just as much as how they were raised before shipping.
Wingless Drosophila Melanogaster fruit flies have a shorter life cycle than D. Hydei, but are far more prolific. This is the smallest species of fruit fly in commerce (1/16"), making them perfect for many species of fish, reptiles, birds, insects and amphibians.
Each culture comes with everything the flies need to produce thousands of flies. Just keep them at room temperature for several days and they will begin to produce.
