Frequently Asked Questions

This page answers common questions about ordering from Pritchett's Small Pets. More detailed poultry, hatching-egg, feeder, shipping, pickup, and policy information is available on the dedicated pages of this website.

Where are you located?

We are based in Pelzer, South Carolina. Our mailing address is PO Box 1, Pelzer, SC 29669.

Can I pick up my order?

When pickup is available, it must be arranged in advance. Place your order online and contact us before coming. Please allow approximately two hours for preparation whenever possible.

Do you offer farm tours?

No. We do not offer farm tours and do not allow customers or members of the public into our breeder or animal areas. Strict biosecurity is part of how we protect the poultry and other animals we have invested years in developing and maintaining.

Can I see the parent birds or breeder pens before buying?

Not in person. A purchase does not include access to our breeder areas. When we can provide photographs, descriptions, records, or other information without compromising biosecurity, we are happy to do so. If that limitation means a customer chooses not to purchase, we respect that decision.

How should I contact you?

Calling or texting is usually fastest because much of our day is spent caring for animals and working around the homestead.

Do weather and holidays affect live shipping?

Yes. Heat, cold, storms, holidays, weekends, and carrier delays can affect when it is safe to ship live products. We may delay a shipment rather than knowingly place animals at unnecessary risk.

What if a live order arrives in poor condition?

Contact us as soon as possible and follow the requirements listed on our Shipping, Returns & Live Arrival Policy page.

Are poultry and hatching eggs always available?

No. Availability changes with egg production, fertility, seasonal conditions, hatch results, breeder needs, and the direction of each breeding program.

I still have a question.

Please contact us before ordering. We would rather answer a question first than have someone buy something that is not a good fit for their needs.
