Planting & Care

Full sun and drainage matter more than pampering. Butterfly bush is much less forgiving of persistently wet soil than it is of ordinary summer heat. Many selections flower on new growth, so pruning as active growth begins can help keep the shrub tidy.

BUDDLEIA DAVIDII 'PIIBD-III' PP26,306 Fragrant, clear blue flowers on upright stems average 6-8″ long. Psychedelic Sky has a rounded to upright, tidy habit, and flowering continues into fall if deadheaded. It is easily rejuvenated by pruning back to 12″ tall.

Psychedelic Sky is crown hardy in zone 5 and will flush from the base in spring.
